Welcome to lesson 2. The lines used to draw characters (they are called strokes) are originally drawn by hand with a brush. On modern computers, they may appear linked together with one font while they are not with another font.

Pay attention to the overall shape and try to use different font styles when taking a test, this will help you better recognise and memorise characters.

The characters below represent the following sounds : ku, tsu, ko, sa and ra

The characters below represent the following sounds : ri, te, ro, to, ma
