Learning a new writing system is the coolest brainteaser in the world. Whether you are simply curious about the mysterious shapes or whether you intend to start studying the language, Alphabeautiful's intuitive method will help you read those characters in just a few hours.
Here are a few things you need to know about Greek letters before you start.
ASPECT - Many of the 24 letters look very familiar if you are used to the Latin alphabet, but some letters have very unique shapes that you will need to memorise with exercises.
PRONUNCIATION - Accurate pronunciation is always key if you're planning to speak with native speakers, but the official phonetic guide in each lesson is enough for learning to read. Plus, we've got your back — every lesson includes audio clips for letters and syllables, so you can get a better feel for the sounds.
For a more accurate pronunciation of harder characters, we highly recommend working with a native speaker.
We think it is faster to learn to read via transliterations without learning to write letters at the same time, but we acknowledge that drawing letters can be a super relaxing artistic activity, so if it helps you memorize them, you should definitely grab a pen, a pencil or a paintbrush and give it a try!
To make sure you're ready for any reading situations, our exercises also include a variety of different font styles: decorative (serif), simple (sans-serif) and handwritten.
