Learning a new writing system is the coolest brainteaser in the world. Whether you are simply curious about the mysterious shapes or whether you intend to start studying the language, Alphabeautiful's intuitive method will help you read those characters in just a few hours.
Here are a few things you need to know about Georgian letters before you start.
ASPECT - The many curvy Georgian letters are quite different from their Latin counterparts, but there are a few familiar shapes that you can use to memorise them : numbers, Latin-looking letters, heart shapes, objects, etc....
PRONUNCIATION - Most consonant and vowel sounds exist in English; a few consonants exist in other (European) languages, while a handful of consonants are unique. Transliterations and descriptions will be approximate for those.
For a more accurate pronunciation of harder characters, we highly recommend working with a native speaker.
We think it is faster to learn to read via transliterations without learning to write letters at the same time, but we acknowledge that drawing letters can be a super relaxing artistic activity, so if it helps you memorize them, you should definitely grab a pen, a pencil or a paintbrush and give it a try!
